The Location, Location, Location projects are due for presentation on Tuesday, 11/8. Students will have the whole period Monday to work on projects.

Ultimate Carbon Road Trip Requirements

This will count as a 100 project grade and must include the following:

A. Describing the starting point

Creation of matter in stars (process of nuclear fusion in core of star) (Helium, Oxygen, Carbon, Neon, etc) _____________________

Creation of carbon from lighter elements (importance of hydrogen, helium and conservation of mass) (Remember how the input and output in the chemistry behind nuclear fusion??)_______________________

Include structure of all atoms (protons, neutrons, electrons) _________

Unique structure of carbon (what determines its individual chemical characteristics) Include electromagnetic, gravitational and nuclear forces. ________________

B. Describing the journey

Explain how carbon comes to earth _________

Explain the “vehicles” that continue to bring carbon to earth __________
